Most of Colleen Hoover Books are all about forbidden love.
Below there might be spoilers but not so spoiled.
The thing is, Ridge is deaf! And he doesn't speak. But he is a song writer, very talented.
And Sydney? She is well, she was betrayed by her roommate. One day, she moved to Ridge's Apartment. And thus, she developed feelings for Ridge who saved her (you will see, GO READ THAT DAMN BOOK PLEASE) and figure out Ridge has a girlfriend, Maggie.
So you get it? Sydney doesn't want to have love affair and of course Ridge obviously doesn't also. Ridge loved Maggie but he thought he did. (you will see, PLEASE JUST READ THAT BOOK)
And the end? It is happy ending but you will see. How my favorite Author "COLLEEN HOOVER" made this story perfect and heart-breaking.
