The Spiral Down (#2 The Fall Up) Review, Quotes, Excerption by Aly Martinez

If you read this book, you're bound to love Henry and go crazy over Evan.

The first book, The Fall Up is not my taste but I continued this series because of Henry. He's such an amazing person and I would love to know about him more. Then, I got into the mess of this heated romance and...

/phew/

The writing is good. It's funny and sensuous. Nothing to comment. It's just great. But what's better is Evan Roth...

"you can't cure ignorance with violence. They need to understand that love is love. Between a man and a woman, a man and a man or a woman and a woman. And babe, I know you consider yourself gay, but you know how I feel about labels. I sure as hell don't want the boys growing up thinking it's okay to cast them on others."

Why is he like this? I fall for him pretty hard for saying this.

I tagged this book under celebrity romance. Henry Alexander is a star, everyone loves him and it looks like he's getting everything he wants in his perfect little life. But that was not true. Henry was lonely and he constantly is searching for the love he wants. The love that won't leave him after seeing his ugly side. And because of too many failures in finding his one true love, he started to go for the straight men.
He thought Evan was straight when he pursued him.

And the story goes...

Life is a struggle, but it’s who you chose to take on the journey with you that matters the most.

I didn’t understand how, after all these years of avoiding men, I was suddenly enamored by one I barely even knew. I didn’t understand how he had enraptured me with a single stare from across a crowded arena. I didn’t know why the heat from his flames consumed me like never before. I didn’t know why my mind was screaming at me to run as far away as I could, but my body absolutely refused.

I miss him. His laugh. His randomness. The way he can captivate me from across a room. The rush I felt when we were together.

Lost in Scotland Review, Excerption and Quotes by Hilaria Alexander

The first book I read in November !!!
Because Colleen Hoover read it and complimented it just like "The Sea of Tranquility"

This book is about a romance between a makeup artist and an actor. Sam is that makeup artist and Hugh is that actor.

"I wanted to see how the LA girl would fare in Scotland, with its mysterious beauty and harsh climate. Set in the fictional town of St. Martin, Lost in Scotland has every element of a good romance: a hot Scot to die for, a feisty British BFF, gossip, revenge, Hollywood drama and a grand finale." That's outright came from author, herself.

Sam ran away from her hometown after breaking up with her famous actor-boyfriend and she needed air. She got herself a job at as a makeup artist and met Hugh at work.

A sneak peak of Hugh's thoughts on Sam ;)
Things were good for all of two days. Granted, it was neither my fault nor Sam’s. The circumstances sucked, and it only got worse.
I didn’t seem to have a choice when it came to Sam.
For years, I had avoided any distraction and only focused on work, but now I couldn’t push my thoughts of her away. I knew this wasn’t the time to chase after someone, yet my heart wasn’t listening.

The book is real fun. It's easy and interesting read. I think I only spent two nights on that book. Sam could be a little stupid in the end but overall, the whole book is good.
So, Check out the quotes ~

Hugh Macleod, you're everything to me. You know that, right? The world might know you because you're gorgeous and good at what you do, but you are so much more.

The power of music was undeniable. A good song could make me feel stronger, empowered, and suddenly I felt able to sweep away most of my feelings of homesickness.

It was a daily struggle to be so close to her and not being able to do anything. Even when we aren't together, I could see her.

WITHOUT MERIT quotes, review and excerption by COLLEEN HOOVER

October New Release***

Colleen Hoover did it again. Even when the cover release, I was amazed. I couldn't take this book down. I couldn't take it off from my mind even when I am not reading this.
The best thing about her stories is that they are very original, even the characters.
The story focus on the Voss family. Merit, Honor (her older twin-sister) and Utah (her brother) lives with her father and Victoria (her step-mother).

The time frame of the story is only a little over a month. It started out with Merit strange obsession of collecting trophy she didn't win at thrift shop. And it is also where she met Sagan.
The Voss family is not a dysfunctional family with secrets holding up. And Merit who felt like a outcast of the family knew those secrets and kept them close to heart. Her twin sister is everything she is not. Her brother is straight A student and trying to stay as far as away from the family.
The only one she found dear in the family is Moby, her step-brother.

The book is not a lot to handle. Since it's mostly about the family and secrets that almost destroy them.
Interesting and emotional read, I would give it 10 out of 10.
Quotes down there.

Not every mistake deserves a consequence. Sometimes the only thing it deserves is forgiveness.

We’re all a degree of fucked-up.

If silence were a river, your tongue would be the boat.

Maybe that’s the root of a lot of family issues. It isn’t actually the issues people are hung up about for so long. It’s that no one has the courage to take the first step in talking about the issues.

The Fall Up Review, Quotes and Excerption by Aly Martinez

We are not supposed to judge a book by its cover. Well, I have myself to blame (in my defense, the first few chapters are my kind of book). Because this cover is really pretty, so I thought maybe I am really gonna win it big.

The story starts like this...
“IT WAS RAINING.
Isn’t that the way all great love stories start? And also usually end? The midnight air was cool against my skin as I stared off that bridge...”

But the first few chapters are done and the another few chapters are continuing and the only thing that grows is my disappointment. I expect so much but then my high hopes for "The Fall Up" are crushed as the story continued.

Levee ; The super hot celebrity who is also the America's sweetheart is suicidal.
Sam ; The stranger who saved her?

Interesting characters but... just can't relate.
But for the lots, it is happy ending. I might only be the in the minority group that doesn't like this book, so... you guys could try but I had warned ya...

The second book is REALLY good which is MM Romance.

Henry didn’t find it humorous. “Damn it. Why is heterosexuality such a cock block?”
“It really is.”
And it really was for Henry. He was tall, with a lean, muscular body that even I couldn't help but notice on occasion. Women adored him even though he was openly gay. However, Henry's biggest problem in the love department was his obsession with straight men. I couldn’t even count the number of times Henry’s heart had been broken by a guy who he’d convinced to give him a chance but ultimately went right back to women.

Quotes ~

I was falling fast for that man, and I could only hope I was taking him with me.

Don't tell me you're fine. Don't tell me you have to go. Don't tell me that everything is okay. Just tell me the truth your eyes are so desperate for me to hear.

My life was fine. My job was fine. My house was fine. My friends were fine. God, I was sick of fucking fine. I needed something... anything... to be great.

The Wrath and The Dawn Series Review, Quotes and Excerption by Renee Ahdieh

THE WRATH AND THE DAWN is the retelling of the 1001 nights (About the King that murdered the wife he married at each dawn.)
It is nice. The author is being creative but it lacks smooth flow and originality. And the choice of words are a bit off. How the two characters fall for each other is unconvincing. I am sorry, I like the book in overall but it's full with flaws. Guess, that wasn't my type after all.

Khalid - They said 'boy-king' or 'monster' that is feared and hated by the whole country because he snatched the young girls away and all ended up dead at mid-night. No one knows the reason but they all thought it's this way because of his nature.

Shahrzad - The one girl that stayed alive nights after nights because of her tales. No one knows other than her family that she has come to revenge for her best friend and other girls.

Tariq - Childhood friend and lover of  Shahrzad. He gathered people with the help of Uncle Reza whose girl also fall under the cruel killings by the King.

Of course, it's no brainer that Khalid and Shahrzad will fall in love with each other and Tariq will be the one filled with jealousy. The only thing that drove me to continue reading this is the creativity and the reason behind why Khalid kept killing his wives-to-be.

And I know, and a lot happened during the first book but it ended with no motivation to keep searching for it's 2nd book.
To be fair, the first book is really interesting starting from the middle. The rebellion group lead by Tariq is... (god, I just gave a spoiiiiilerrr) sorry. Yeah, the 2/3 of the book is filled with exciting stuffs.
Just, not enough to make me need the 2nd book "The Rose & The Dagger"

I don't know what it is about the characters that made the story more interesting. The plot is nice but need more creativity. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it. But looking overall, it didn't suck even though it felt like the author rushed a bit to the end.
The series could extend to another book but it didn't.
There are a lot of things that needed to be explained but left for us to imagine. I am someone that dig for details so, this has been really a minus for me.

I did not want to spoil this for you guys so I didn't mention a lot of things here but I could say, you should find that out yourself. Grab that book, with a blanket and ready to get angry at Shahrazad's father.

Some things exist in our lives for but a brief moment. And we must let them go on to light another sky.

It does not take courage to kill. It takes courage to live.

I know love is fragile. And loving someone like you is near impossible. Like holding something shattered through a raging sandstorm. If you want her to love you, shelter her from that storm…And make certain that storm isn’t you.

History is All you Left me Quotes, Review and Excerption by Adam Silvera

There is Griffin
There is Theo

Griffin is the first love and ex-boyfriend of Theo who died in drowning accident. Theo, Griffin and Wade are best-friends. Theo is an anchor in the group. Without him, things are hopeless between them.

Now I want to kiss him so badly. “It’s perfect.”
I make sure Wade isn’t coming, and I pull Theo by his hand, leading him to the next aisle. But I don’t act on the kiss because I don’t want to rush it or feel like we’re doing it behind Wade’s back.
“We have to tell Wade, dude,” I whisper. “If you want to do it by yourself, that’s cool, but if you want to tell him together, that’s also cool. But we’re not leaving this bookstore until we do so.”
“Deal,” Theo says, squeezing my hand. “What time does the store close again? I—”
“Whoa,” Wade says.
“He is standing at the end of the aisle, holding a tray of iced teas. I jerk my hand out of Theo’s. “Whoa,” he repeats, walking toward us. He’s Theo’s height, but he seems smaller, the way his shoulders sink. He shakes his head and manages a small smile.
“This whole squad business was fun while it lasted.”
That’s not the reaction I was expecting. “What are you talking about?”
“How long have you two been dating? I knew this was going to happen. You guys doubt my psychic ways, but I called this last year. I just didn’t tell anyone.”
I don’t know what I was expecting. But it wasn’t this.

And there is Jackson
Theo went away to California for college. That's where he met Jackson and seeing him after he broke up with Griffin.
Griffin can't get over Theo. After Theo broke up with him, they stayed as friends. Not because Griffin doesn't care, but because he still wished Theo would come back to him.
Because they shared a history.
Now that Theo is dead, history is all it's left for Griffin.

Griffin;
Then there’s the kind of zombie I’ve become now: the one who has lost everything—his brain, his heart, his light, his direction. He wanders the world, bumping into this, tripping over that, but keeps going and going. That is life after death.
Today I’m the zombie standing in front of your old locker, as if it’s some underground bunker where I’ll find you alive.
But I know better.
You’re dead, and I’m the worst kind of alive.

People are going through their own version of life and we will have no idea of it. It isn't fair to compare each other's hardship while the situation and the way we handle is totally different.
I never liked someone who dwelt on the past. But this book changed me. Maybe we need to let ourselves grief a little some more before we could finally let go.
Should marked as the book that I will read again in the future.

Quotes

People are complicated puzzles, always trying to piece together a complete picture, but sometimes we get it wrong and sometimes we’re left unfinished. Sometimes that’s for the best. Some pieces can’t be forced into a puzzle, or at least they shouldn’t be, because they won’t make sense.

Then there’s the kind of zombie I’ve become now: the one who has lost everything—his brain, his heart, his light, his direction. He wanders the world, bumping into this, tripping over that, but keeps going and going. That is life after death.

We were something, but history isn’t enough to keep something alive forever.

Everything, Everything review and quotes by Nicola Yoon

It has been sitting on my TBR list for a while and then I saw the movie trailer.
I saw the reviews, very positive reviews and the summary is nice. It is very different from others.

I admit, when I pick that book up, I expected a lot of heavy stuffs. But since the two characters are teenagers, well. I am not disregarding the depth of teenagers' feelings. But you know, when you stopped being a teenager and stopped crying over your crush's new girlfriend and started to care about your career and life, you just... don't think of teenager's stuff as a big deal.

I don't know about how other readers do reading, but when I read, I don't do other things. I hardly read in public but sometimes, when I cannot stop reading, I had to do in public (only out of no choices) But this book, it just doesn't attract me. Not because it is not creative and not good, but only because of lack of interest.

There's one little twist. That one little twist that made me gasp and while I was really really thinking about dropping this book. So but this twist also made this book less special. I guess that's what they say about being good and bad. Well, I am still in considering state to or not to watch the movie.

Quotes below =)

Everything's a risk. Not doing anything is a risk. It's up to you.

Spoiler alert: Love is worth everything.

Just because you can’t experience everything doesn’t mean you shouldn’t experience anything.

You're not living if you're not regretting.

The Queen and The Cure Quotes, Review and Excerption by Amy Harmon

#2 The Bird and the Sword Chronicles

In the beginning, the Creator gave each child a word, a powerful word, which called down a special ability, a precious gift to guide them in their journey through their world. One son was given the word change, which gifted him the ability to transform himself into the beasts of the forest or the creatures of the air. One daughter was given the word spin, for she could spin all manner of things into gold. The grass, the leaves, a strand of her hair. The word heal was given to another son, to cure illness and injury among his brothers and sisters. Another daughter was given the word tell, and she could predict what was to come. Some said she could even shape the future with the power of her words.

Amy Harmon did it again. If you haven't read the first book of this chronicles, Oh damn boy, you should. And if you had read the first book and considering if you should read the second one, I am saying, stop thinking just read it. The second book only makes you want to read the third, the fourth and oh the nth.

Kjell (which is pronounced as Kel) - is the Healer, the King's Guard and also is the older half-brother of the King.
Sasha (which is pronounced as SAW shuh) - who is the slave in the Village of Solemn.

“Why?” she asked, and the word twisted in his belly like a sword. He thought he might bleed to death on her floor, confused and wounded, desperate to understand himself and be understood.
“Because I have loved and hated all the wrong people,” he admitted.
“And you don’t know whether to love or hate me?” she asked, her voice almost tender.
“No,” he confessed.
“I have been hated before. But I don’t know if I’ve been loved. I think . . . once . . . I must have been, because I know how to love.”
“Do you know how to hate?” he asked, his voice sharp, ricocheting through the chamber. “If you don’t know how to hate, how could you possibly know how to love?”
“I don’t have to know how to die to know how to live,’ she said simply.

Can you read the second book without reading the first book? Oh, you can. You sure can but you are going to be missed out a lot of good stuff, brilliant stuffs and you know you don't want to. From now on, what I am going to do is praising this book and the author. Oh yeah, that's what I am about do.

The book is amazing. How the characters developed around each other made the readers touched.

“You are kind,” she said softly.
“I am not kind,” Kjell scoffed.
“And you are good,” she added.
“I am not good!” he laughed.
“I have never known a man like you.”
“You were a slave in Quondoon! The men you knew were not trying to impress you.” “Neither are you, Captain. Yet I am still impressed.”

Something between them is very special. This book will make you smile and cry. Happy and sad. I remembered I cried out a lot. I tagged this book as "ugly-crying" fantasy/romance.

Quotes time!

In the light everything is obvious. There are no secrets. You simply have to look in order to see.

The very best things in life are born of difficulty. Whatever comes too easily is easily abandoned.

I don't want to take another man's place. I want only what belongs to me.

There were no secrets, no sorrows, nothing hidden, nothing lost. They saw not what would be or what had been, but only what was. She saw him. He saw her. And they saw nothing else.

Going Under Quotes, Excerption and Review by S. Walden

It starts as a mystery.
Brooklyn, with a purpose to revenge her best friend's death, the story started out like that. She has to make a choice between the new guy she saw at her friend's Beth's funeral or the guy she set out as her goal to revenge Beth's death.

The sure thing about this book is that... it is a PAGE TURNER.
You just wanna keep wanting to know what will happen next. And next. And then next.

Well, the plot is not that much mysterious even I called it a Mystery. The most beautiful mystery in Going Under is;

Ryan Foster : The Funeral Guy (That's what Brooke called him anyway and it suits his mysterious appearance and personality so... be it)

Suddenly I looked over at Ryan. I remembered Cal’s warning to me in the gym, to stay away from Ryan because he was crazy. What happened to Ryan? Obviously it had something to do with Cal.
My mind raced in that moment,...
...My mind was reeling by this point, and it took me a long time to hear Cal’s voice in the distance working to get my attention.
“Brooke!” he said. “Damn girl, where’d you go?”
I shook my head...

Terry : The Main Chef of the restaurant that Brooke works as a waitress
Actually, Terry is so very big Bro. He is very protective and very likable character in Going Under.

He smirked. “I’m not going to school for an English degree, Wright.”
“You’re going to school?” I asked. I was shocked. I thought Terry made being head chef at Patricia’s Diner his career choice. He was thirty-six, after all.
“You’re such a brat. I’m going to school for computer programming,” he replied.
“What? You thought I had plans to work at a diner for the rest of my life?”
I shrugged. “I don’t know. You make one hell of a pie.”
“Whatevs. I don’t need this place. Once I’m through with school I’ll be rolling in the dough.” He laughed at his own pun.
Suddenly I had a thought. “So I guess you’re pretty savvy with computers and all.”
“Duh.”
“And I’m assuming most of your classmates are pretty savvy, too?”
“Most people go to school for what they’re good at,” Terry replied patiently.
I tried for casualness. “Know any hackers?”
“Huh?”
I thought better. “Um, never mind,” and went back to wiping down the table.
“No, not ‘never mind’. Why do you need a hacker?” He leaned into the table, eyes glittering with mischief. “So there is a little bad girl in you after all.”
My face flushed crimson, and he saw.
“Okay, Wright. Spill it. Who do you wanna spy on?”
“Nobody.”
“Bullshit. What if I told you I did know a hacker?”
“Are you messing with me?” I asked.”
“No.”
“Okay, who is it?”
Terry leaned back in his chair and placed his hands behind his head. He looked up at the ceiling. “Yours truly.”

If I said too much, it would ruin the fun. So, it will be better for just go and read it for yourself. Trust me, you would see the friendship, the betrayal, the revenge and the romance to spice the things up. So, it is absolutely a good read.

Quotes to enjoy =)

I’m talking about the kind of indignity that changes you as a person, makes you withdraw, hide from the world because suddenly it’s turned into something frightening—full of dark corners and monsters.

I don't know. It's the world we live in, I guess. Some things will never be fair.

People take advantage of good people. That's what I mean. So don't be a sucker.

Oil paints were wiser to the human condition, understanding our imperfections and giving us enough time to rework ourselves until we made things right.

Captive Prince Trilogy Review, Excerption, Quote by C.S. Pacat

Before saying anything about the series, I would like to say 'if you have anything against man/man romance' please skip the review and this series.

Akielos and Vere, two Kingdoms at odds.
Damianos, Prince of Akielos was sold to Laurent, the Prince of Vere after betrayed by Kastor (his own half brother) in Akielos as Damen
Laurent doesn't know the slave was the future King of Akielos. Not that it would make a difference if he knew. It would be worse if he knew. Because Prince of Akielos is the very one who killed his one and only brother.
Their future was doomed even from the start. Maybe that's why I love the series. (Me, a sucker for forbidden love) I read these three books in two day without a stop in the middle. The writing is perfect for historical fantasy.
When Damen is straightforward and bulky in kind of manly way, Laurent is slender and sly in a witty kind of way.

Without even a touch, my feelings for Damen and Laurent went uproar. The little short excerption will say it all ~

‘But training isn’t everything. He might have natural talent.’ Damen was silent. To react to these courtiers would be madness;
‘Natural talent?’ said Laurent. He strolled into the gathering. Laurent turned to Damen.
‘Well?’ Laurent said.
‘Can you couple adequately, or do you just kill things?’
Damen thought that given the choice between the lash and a conversation with Laurent, he might actually choose the lash.
‘He’s not very talkative,’ remarked Vannes.
‘It comes and goes,’ said Laurent.
‘I’d happily perform with him.’ It was the pet with the red hair. Ostensibly, he spoke to his master, but the words carried.
‘Ancel, no. He could hurt you.’
‘Would you like that?’ said the pet, sliding his arms around his master’s neck. Just before he did so, he glanced sideways at Laurent.
‘No. I wouldn’t.’ His master frowned.
Damen was sickened by the idea of some nobleman’s boy offering himself up to be hurt on the assumption that it would play to Laurent’s tastes. Then he thought of all he knew of Laurent, and only felt sicker, because of course the boy’s assumptions were probably correct.
‘What do you think, Your Highness?’ said Ancel.
‘I think your master would prefer you intact,’ said Laurent, dryly.
‘You could tie the slave up,’ said Ancel.
‘What about something small, while we wait for the main entertainment?’ said Vannes. ‘Surely it’s past time for the slave to learn his place?’
Damen saw Laurent absorb those words. Saw him stop and give the idea his full attention, turning the decision over in his mind. And saw him make it, his mouth curling, his expression hardening.
‘Why not?’ Laurent said.
‘No,’ said Damen, a surge in his chest, half-stymied as he felt hands on him.
Ancel was practised, and manipulated Damen expertly with mouth and hands. Damen wondered if he should feel sympathetic or pleased that Ancel was not going to have his moment of triumph: not even half hard under Ancel’s ministrations, Damen doubted he would be able to come for the pleasure of an audience
There was a faint rustle, and, cool as the water beneath the lily, Laurent came to sit beside him.
‘I wonder if we can do better than this,’ Laurent said. ‘Stop.’
Ancel detached himself from his endeavours and looked up, lips wet.
‘You’re more likely to win a game if you don’t play your whole hand at once,’ said Laurent. ‘Start more slowly.’
Damen reacted to Laurent’s words with inevitable tension. Ancel was close enough for Damen to feel his breath, a hot, focused cloud of heat that rolled in place, a susurration over sensitive skin. ‘Like this?’ Ancel asked. His mouth was an inch from its destination, and his hands slid softly up Damen’s thighs. His wet lips parted slightly. Damen, against his will, reacted.
“Don’t use your mouth yet,’ said Laurent. ‘Just your tongue.’
Ancel obeyed. He tongued the head, an elusive touch, barely the suggestion of itself. Not enough pressure. Laurent was watching Damen’s face with the same cerebral attention that he might apply to a strategic problem. Ancel’s tongue pressed into the slit.
‘He likes that. Do it harder,’ said Laurent.
Damen swore, a single Akielon word. Unable to resist the flickering lures being played across its flesh, his body was awakening, and beginning to crave rhythm.

Hot shit, right?
What kills me is the extra chapter at the end of the book, The Training of Eramus. Kallias. Yes, I cried. What Kallias sacrificed for Eramus is just... too much angst.

And the ending... they are about to get CLOSER T__T Dangerously Closer T_T

CAPTIVE PRINCE SERIES

Prince's Gambit is the very much heart-gripping continuation of #CaptivePrince Damen followed his master Laurent to the border.
The new journey for Damen and Laurent.
Laurent stopped being a pain in ass for Damen in this book, more to my pleasure, YES! It is the new challenge for Laurent to rule the people that his uncle Regent let him take to the border.
A new bond between them deepened.
A new experience.
A new sensation
👉ok, But we might need to talk about Jord and Aimeric. /theirstoryistooheartbreakingIjustcant/👈

Their feelings for each other got more definite. Laurent saved Damen's life and Damen save Laurent from his ruin. They got each other's back.
The war strategy wasn't the book strong points. But it needn't to. The writing covers it all. The writing is affectionate when it needed, descriptive when it needed, short when needed I don't even have the time to complain. I was too busy waiting for Laurent to finally aware and admit of his feelings.A cliff-hanger ending is what awaits at the end of #PrincesGambit and I can't help but start reading the final one as soon as I'm done with second's.

CAPTIVE PRINCE SERIES

THE BOOK THREE.
HE KNOWS. (it's a spoiler, I'm sorry)
Heartbreaks and Devastation are waiting for you in this final installment of #CaptivePrince

Damianos of Akielos returned.
You could guess how Laurent would react about this, Like a hurricane, Laurent's love is beautiful but destructive. Laurent was, a cast iron bitch, that it was a very bad idea to get on his bad side, and that as for his good side, he didn't have one. (according to Orlant)

Normally, I won't give the last book 5 stars. It wasn't perfect. How the war ends. The strategy, it wasn't very realistic but... for Damen and Laurent, their love, I am more than ready for give it 5 stars, hell, thousand stars, every god-damn star in this universe.
So, read the book folks, we will know what I am talking about.

A Thousand Boy Kisses Review, Quotes, Excerption byTillie Cole

SO SPECIAL, as special as special can be.

They met since young. 'Poppy and Rune, best friends for infinity!'
Rune. Age five. From Norway to America. Rune Erik Kristiansen hated to come to America. And Poppy is what made it good.
Poppy and Rune were inseparable. But then, one day Poppy had to leave Rune. Rune doesn't know why. Poppy doesn't let Rune know.

[MAJOR ANGST ALERT]
I warned y'all. So, brace yourself if you decided to read anyway.

Poppy left Rune for two years without a word, a letter but they met again anyway.

“Does it matter?” I asked, my voice low. Poppy’s paper heart was still in my hand, the significance of it almost scalding my skin.
The promise of our lips.
The promise of our halved hearts.
Forever always.
Poppy slowly began to shake her head, but then, shoulders slumping, she nodded once. “Yes,” she whispered, “it matters. It shouldn’t. I set you free.” She dropped her head. “But it does. It matters more than you’d understand.”
She was wrong. I understood why it mattered so much. It did to me too.

Of course, they will re-unite again.

"The universe is right again only when Poppy and Rune got back together again."

What makes this book good is... the writing. It's not the plot. It's the moments of the characters together.
This book is 'bittersweet'. Like I said, you'll get a lot of angst and also a lot of fluffs all heart and flowers and kisses. And you can't describe the feeling after you read the book with words. It's indescribable. I could reveal all the spoilers and plot, you would know the book but trust me, it's not the same.
The writing is gold.

AND THE ENDING... god, the ending is beautiful.
That's all I am gonna give you. You can guess but you'll never know ;)

Quotessss~~~

Why be miserable when you can be happy? It’s an obvious choice to me.

Why must we wait until we run out of time to start to accomplish all that we dreamed, when once we had all the time in the world? Why don’t we look at the person we love the most like it’s the last time we will ever see them? Because if we did, life would be so vibrant. Life would be so truly and completely lived.

A single moment could change the world. It could change someone's life. That one moment could make someone's life, in that brief second, infinitely better or infinitely worse.

Waking Olivia Review, Quotes and Excerption by Elizabeth O' Roark

"That girl isn't just trouble of the not-a-team-player,

not-a-reliable-runner variety.
She's trouble of the devious,

manipulative, too-f***ing-hot-for-her-own good variety.
She's the kind of girl who causes trouble merely by existing,
and then makes sure to cause more."

That girl is no other than Olivia Finnegan. A runner, a transfer from UT.

"They are all looking at him like he's
Prince Charming and Christian Grey rolled into one.
He could pull down his pants right now and
half of them would drop to their kneels."

He is no other than Will Langstorm. Coach of women's cross country team.

So, there's something off with Olivia. The past that is a mystery.
:Olivia is her own worst enemy, with a past she can’t seem to escape, and the last person she wants help from is a cocky track coach she can never seem to please.

So they can't stand each other. Denial at its best.

Now that I am watching from a distance, I'll admit that he's ridiculously hot. Just his stride is sexy. His tousled brown hair, the hollows under his cheekbones, the upper lip. He’s cocky and it only makes him more appealing. I sort of hate us both for that fact.
He grins. "Morning, ladies.”
"Morning, Coach," they sing in unison. I remain silent. They're all looking at him like he's Prince Charming and Christian Grey rolled into one. He could pull down his pants right now and half of them would drop to their knees. No wonder he's such a dick.

It's really funny how Olivia hates Will and attracted to him neverthelast XD
At least they got one common ground, hating each other's guts and attracted to each other

“That girl.
I’m still kind of smiling when she leaves. When I realize this, I wipe it clean from my face. I cannot allow myself to get sucked in by Olivia Finnegan. She’s already got half the men at this school watching her every move like she’s a wet dream come to life. I refuse to join her cheering section.”

But Will has a girlfriend.
(is it spoiler? sorry guys)

So, it's kind of forbidden love story and so my kind of book. It is good. Fun. Exciting. Sad. Not to heartbreaking extent but I think maybe a little? My heart breaks a little when.... (it's real spoiler) so, just go read it guys.

It'd just be a little over a year. You could ask me to wait. you could ask me right now and I'd do it. Gladly. But you're not going to, are you?

That's why we're perfect together. You never speak and I never shut up. You're so lucky you found me.

Breaking Her (Love is War #2) Quotes, Excerption and Review by R.K Lilley

Betrayal.
True Love.
All reveals in Breaking Her

SO it turns out Dante didn't break up with her because he wants to. END.
I will zip my mouth, tie my hands (to stop writing about how, why, what) lol.

There's only one moment I found a waste.
Anton : Hollywood good-looking, versatile, ever changing but polished to gleaming, with perfect teeth, handsome features, and total control over every muscle in his face.
And Demi.
I thought there will be something about Demi and Anton in the second book... something something.

But I quite not impressed with book 2.

BASTIAN.
Ok, I might give away some spoilers but a little spoiler never hurt anyone right?

Bastian... we all have our doubts that Bastian might have feelings for Scarlett but this thing he did for Scarlett is ridiculous and total outrageous. :/

DANTE
“We both know this too well.  There have been times where I was so angry with you that I didn't think I ever wanted to set eyes on you again."
He continued.  "I can be manipulative, and I know I've done some things you don't agree with, things you don't understand.  Things that sorry does not, and will not, cover.  I know that at times your faith in me has been lost.”
“But search your heart, angel, and tell me, and yourself, if you believe that any of my actions, no matter how messed up, or misguided, no matter how unforgivable they may have been . . . Ask yourself, do you truly believe that any of the things I did weren't for you?  We can disagree on my methods, but do you have any doubts that what I did, I did to protect you?”

He got my heart with this. This is just so beautiful. He might be messed up, misguided and unforgivable, it's all for her. All for his one true love of life. /canIhaveonelikehim/iknowicant/thereisonlyonelikeDante/sob/sobs/

There is nothing to say further about Breaking Her. Because as soon as you're done with the first book, you are compelled to read the second and you will know.
The story of true love, friends, betrayal and ruins.
We will see the brilliant quotes now, shall we?

Love changes you. No matter how strong you are, it makes you stronger. No matter how weak you are, it makes you weaker. No matter how hard you are to conquer, it will bring you to your knees.

I’m tired of hating you … When all my heart has ever needed is to love you.

In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life. It goes on. - Robert Frost

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire. - Charles Bukowski

Whatever, I give up. Men were from Mars, and Mars was stupid.

The Law of MOSES Quotes, Excerption and Review by Amy Harmon

The title gives away everything. It's all about Moses.
Moses was messed up. Moses was a law unto himself. But he was also strange and exotic and beautiful.
Moses is an artist who is gifted. He is so gifted in painting and drawing that it controls him. Society, around him, can’t accept his gift because they don't understand it. His gift freaks people out.

In small town, Moses was a out-cast. No one wants anything to do with him. But, Georgia, she can't just stay away. She wished she should have listened to her mother about Moses. She is so kind, she love Moses, she fights for Moses. She fights for her love but the circumstances she faced, the situation she was in, there was nothing she could do.

Get ready for devastation, pain and tears you are about to face. Moses and Georgia, the two people that are about to break your heart and make you want to embrace them and keep them closed to your heart.

“Moses?”
There it was again. I turned, drawing my arm up to block out the light from the flashlight being leveled at me and find the voice on the other side.
“Georgia?”
What the hell was she doing out at one a.m. on a school night?
My mental monologue sounded like a parent and I stopped myself immediately. It was none of my business what she was doing, just like it wasn’t any of her business what I was doing.
It was like I’d spoken out loud, because she immediately asked:
“What are you doing?”
Georgia sounded like a parent too, and I didn’t answer her, as usual.
I struggled to my feet, wincing even as I realized there was something sticking out of my leg. Glass.
There was a long shard of glass embedded in my knee where it had connected with the concrete.
“Why do you do that?” Her voice was sad. Not accusing. Not freaked out or wary. Just sad, like she didn’t understand me and wanted to.
“Why do you paint all over everyone’s property?”
“It’s public property. Nobody cares.” It was a stupid thing to say, but I couldn’t explain it to her. Just like I couldn’t explain it to anyone. So I wouldn’t.
“Charlotte Butters cared. Ms. Murray sure as hell cared.”
“So you’re just out tonight, keeping the community safe from paint?” I asked.

Those aren't some special encounter. Just some simple conversation between Moses and Georgia but, somehow it is special to them.
The story itself is simple but unique.
I don't want to add excerption for this story, just go and enjoy the book.
But Quotes are a must so...

Any time you start feeling sorry for yourself or you go into a rant about how bad life sucks, you immediately have to name five greats.

He was like water—cold, deep, unpredictable, and, like the pond up the canyon, dangerous, because you could never see what was beneath the surface. And just like I’d done all my life, I jumped in head first, even though I’d been forbidden. But this time, I drowned.

If you don’t love, then nobody gets hurt. It’s easy to leave. It’s easy to lose. It’s easy to let go.

There are laws. There are rules. And when you break them, there are consequences. Laws of nature and laws of life. Laws of love and laws of death.

“Do you think she knows how much I love her?"
"You gave her flowers and said you were sorry."
"I did."
"You kissed her."
I could only nod.
"You painted her pictures and hugged her when she cried."
"Yeah," I whispered.
"You laughed with her too."
I nodded again.
"Those are all the ways to say I love you.”

The Life Intended Review and Quotes by Kristin Harmel

The ending of "The Life Intended" got me. It is going mysterious, slow and I am very impatient. BUT when I got a hang of this flow, things got better.
I don't understand Kate. She's not from my era. If... If I met her, I think I would hate her. But I can sympathize with her.

So, the story starts with a surprise. I won't say what, it would ruin the fun. Just know there will be three guys involved. Patrick, Dan and Andrew.
She's married (happily) with Patrick.
Then, let's see the excerption below.

I twist my engagement ring on my finger as I wait for Dan to finish his food, and I’m hit with a new wave of shame.
I never should have said yes to him, never should have taken the ring. Misgivings were already rumbling in the pit of my belly, but I had grown accustomed to ignoring them, since I thought there was no real pressure to make up my mind.
In fact, I realize as Dan chews, maybe I never should have gotten serious with him in the first place. The first time I met Patrick, there was an instant spark between us, a glimmer of something that seemed to grow brighter and brighter the longer we talked. I felt butterflies and tingles and all the things you read about in bad romance novels.
There were nerves, of course, which perhaps I mistook for something else. But most of all, there were whispers of logic.”

Why is she engaged with Dan again?

“I find Andrew waiting for me outside St. Anne’s, which is housed in a converted midcentury church on a busy street corner in Astoria. He’s sitting on the front steps, and he stands when he sees me approaching.
“You found the place,” he says, brushing the dirt off his faded jeans and grinning at me as he comes down the front walkway. We shake hands, which feels too formal, then he gives me an awkward hug.
I smile. “I guess I’m overdressed, huh?” He’s in a vintage-looking Batman T-shirt, while I’m still wearing a silk blouse, pencil skirt, and kitten heels from a day at the office.
“Not at all,” he says. “This is just comfortable, for when I need to get down and play with the kids—or fix stuff around the foster houses. I’m known far and wide as the man who can work magic with a screwdriver and a drill.”
“And here I’m just the woman who thinks she can change lives with a guitar and a pair of maracas,” I say with a wink, tipping my big canvas bag so that he can see the small collection of instruments I have inside.”
“Well, I guess we make a pretty good pair then,” he says. He takes my bag off my shoulder, and when I start to protest, he just gives me a look. “I may be dressed like a five-year-old, but I’m still a gentleman. I’m carrying your bag for you.”
“Just don’t try to take my guitar, or I’ll have to hurt you,” I shoot back with a smile.
“Ooh, a fictional violent streak. Edgy.”

So, she seemed to be a little too friendly with Andrew too.
But obviously Dan is out of picture, concerning romancing issues. But she ain't no little girl. She is like 40? I am not sure about her age but she's no blooming flower. So, her decisions about Dan or Patrick or Andrew will not be like normal romance relationship. Life will be involved. Judgement will be involved. A lot of things not related with love will be involved.
This is heart-touching.
With Hannah becoming the issue (oops spoiler alert)
Sorry, let's continue with the praising...

The ending is beautiful, so not heart-breaking obviously. And along the way with the book, I was just hoping she will make the right decisions about her life decisions.

Quote time yay!

I loved him deeply, but I never really knew that every second we had together was a gift until he was gone.

It reminds me suddenly that in real life, Patrick and I used to fight sometimes, big and messy...And I hadn't been scared to argue with him, because I'd never feared him walking away.
So why am I so scared to fight with Dan now? Or with anyone in my life, for that matter? I've spend the last decade thinking of myself as even-tempered and reasonable. But what if I've just been a chicken? What if I'm so terrified of losing the people I love that I've been slowly giving away pieces of myself just to avoid confrontation?

So you can't compare the present with the past, not really, because you're a different person than you were. You have to look forward to the things you want, not back at the things you once had.

It Ends With Us Review, Quotes and Excerption by Colleen Hoover

It's no secret that I am the biggest fan of CoHo. I read each and every one of her novels.
But as soon as I started reading It Ends With Us, I knew this book is not gonna be one of my favorites.
I really had never thought that would happen. But yeah, that happens.
REALLY NEVER WITH COLEEN HOOVER, she's like a goddess to me. I am so frustrated and so disappointed at first few chapters. Then, the plot revealed more.
Here comes the part I stopped complaining of whatever comments I was having. (When Lily met Atlas again/kyaaaaaa/Iamsorrythisisspoiler)

This book is great.
She opened her heart out to write this one. I have to give her this one. How things turned out, is very amusing.

This is the story of Lily, Atlas and Ryle.
Ryle - Neurosurgeon, career oriented, playboy, rich.
Atlas - The homeless boy who Lily used to know in childhood. Her very first love.
Lily - complicated.

Yeah ~ Lily is complicated. She said Atlas is very important and he's the reason why she's in Boston. Then, she got attracted to Ryle pretty fast. That's just my exterior judgement. She's jobless but her father just died. She hated (strongly dislike) her abusive father.
There's nothing to boast about this book. This book is not about plots, pretty words nor the characters. It's about choices and naked truths.

Choices we made and for them, consequences we face.

Yes, not typical Colleen Hoover book that I love but the amazing one that I admired. I love her more because of that book. It seemed unique at the same time, too unrealistic. Colleen Hoover to be this level of unrealistic? That is why I was so taken aback. But considering the turns of events, it is level of acceptable.

“What happened?” he asks.
I shake my head. “Nothing.”
His eyes are narrow, still ice blue but somehow burning with fire. “You’re lying, Lily.”
I muster enough of a smile to get me by. “It was an accident.”
Atlas laughs, but then his face falls flat. “Leave him.”
Leave him?

Atlas is.... what is Atlas asking Lily to do???

“He walks around me to his bedroom door and he locks it. He flips off the light, leaving only a lamp on, and then takes off his shirt as he walks toward me.“What are you doing?”He tosses his shirt on a chair and then slips off his shoes. “We’re going to sleep.”I glance at his bed. Then at him. “Right now?”He nods and walks over to me. In one swift movement, he lifts my dress up and over my head, until I’m standing in the middle of his bedroom floor in my bra and panties. I cover myself, but he doesn’t even look twice. He pulls me toward the bed and lifts the covers for me to crawl in. As he’s walking over to his side of the bed he says, “It’s not like we haven’t slept together before without having sex. Piece of cake.”

HOW SEXY IS RYLE????????? COULD YOU IMAGINE?

He takes a deep breath and then says, “I don’t know what happens next, Lily.”He does. He knows. He just doesn’t want it to happen, because we both know how much it hurts to say goodbye to each other.I look away from him because seeing the look on his face right now cuts straight to my heart. I fold my arms over my chest and stare at the floor. “I have a lot to work through, Atlas. A lot. And I’m scared I won’t be able to do it with you in my life.”

IT is sooooooooo sad. I know. I know. You can't assume from those excerptions you know how it works. *tips of a iceberg* that's what they are. ;)

hellllllllllllllllllloooooooo #QUOTES time \O^O/

There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things

“In the future . . . if by some miracle you ever find yourself in the position to fall in love again . . . fall in love with me.”

I feel like everyone fakes who they really are, when deep down we're all equal amounts of screwed up. Some of us are just better at hiding it than others.

You are my wife. I’m supposed to be the one who protects you from the monsters. I’m not supposed to be one.

Sometimes the things that matter to you most are also the things that hurt you the most.

Penryn & End of Days Review, Excerptions and Quotes by Susan Ee

Before I say anything,
Before you read anything about this series,
The prejudice about Angels will come into your mind.

Angels. Beautiful. Perfect. Pure. Total opposites of Evil and Dark.
Am I right?

This is no shame, this is just the way Angels are in the tales we heard at night at childhood. But that's just prejudice. Those who are familiar with Supernatural (TV Series S12 currently filming) will get this concept faster.

AngelfallThe first book, you will see Penryn (obviously the main female character), Paige (her little sister), her crazy mother. Raffe/ Raphael (The Archangel, the main male character). Nephilim is the thing born of Angel and Human (it's the myth and Raffe is hunting them in case they were true)

The thing they said in Angelfall is that "angels stayed in pack" "angels don't go solo". Yes, but Raffe is. Why and How will be told in the very end of the series End Of Days.

This book is going slow. Well, at first a lot infos to take in but it gets better. I seriously love the chemistry between Penryn and Raffe. I mean it's the romance happening in the apocalypse. It's something right?
Through the book, I am like 'I can't wait for them to get close' and when they get close 'when are they gonna kiss' or 'omggg just kiss already'. I don't know, there's something about Raffe that I undeniably admire and love. Raffe is definitely husband material (I did not say boyfriend had I?)

Penryn and Raffe, they became a Team. To save her sister, Paige who were kidnapped by a bunch of Angels lead by *Beliel*

This book is gonna be full of actions. But very slight touch of romance. Got frustrated over Raffe and Penryn's exchange of smartass comments. But at the end, what disappoints me is, Penryn who is hell-bent on going the impossible mission of saving her baby sister, had time to think about the very romance of Raffe and her?! She lacks focus. Well, just a little disappointment, of course all is forgiven <3

  • I knew from the start that your loyalty would get you killed. I just never thought it would be your loyalty to me that would do it.

  • Anybody that ties you to a chair at gunpoint is a bad guy. Do I really need to explain this?

  • “Why were the other angels attacking you?"
"It's impolite to ask the victim of violence what they did to be attacked.”

World After - The Second book, Obi (oh, the RESISTANCE CAMP Leader), Dee-Dum (The Twins) Beliel (The Bad Angel who was once under Raffe's command) AERI (the place where angels are?) Uriel (Angel President?)

And yes, Penryn is stuck with the renaissance group while Raffe is hunting his wings down. Why? Are his wings taken? What? You don't know? Are you being bad now? Reading the second book review before finished reading the Angelfall? Hmm...

So, can we discuss how Raffe choose Penryn over his white, gorgeous wings now?????
(That's why you shouldn't read the review of 2nd book before you finished the first book, Lessons no.1. Sorry for the spoiler tho it's not exactly a spoiler is it? It's just what great, good, sexy Raffe would do. You know, I know, everyone knows ;)
That moment strike me. It's the choice. His wings or the human? He CHOOSE HUMAN! damn. Raffe got me.
The angel blade is also with Penryn and she got to name that blade and she went with some stupid but cute name. Agh!

No one can deny the epic ending. NO breathing-and-well-alive PERSON. Just like the first book, the second book ends with twisted ending and so much fun with so many actions. So, yeah, the second book is nice. But not as nice as the third one!!

  • It’s amazing how many times we need to go against our survival instincts to survive.

“It's about time you showed some sense. You should be afraid."
"I'm shivering because I'm freezing."
"You're cute when you're afraid."
I give him a dirty look. "Yeah, you're cute when you're afraid too."
"You mean I'm devastatingly handsome when I'm not afraid. Because you've never seen me afraid.”

End of Days - The Final one. Are you ready for the romance? Are you ready for the politics? Are you ready for the end?

I can't tho. I got attached to Raffe. ALSO so Beliel! Can you believe that? You'll see the story of Beliel on the third book. You don't really need a review for the third book do you? This is good, great. You will read this for the closure. Period.

  • If I were human, I'd plow the nicest farm for you.

Let's see some moment from the book,,,,,, yeah?

“Are you all right?” It’s a stupid question because there’s not much I can do for him if he isn’t all right, but it just tumbles out.He snorts. “Aside from being beaned with a rock, I’ll live.”“Sorry.” I feel pretty god-awful about that, but there’s no point in groveling over it.“The next time you have a quarrel with me, I’d appreciate it if you could just talk to me first before resorting to pelting me with rocks.”“Oh, all right,” I grumble. “You’re so damned civilized.”He exhales rudely. “You okay?”I nod. There’s no graceful way to step back after my aborted hug attempt so we stand closer than is comfortable. I guess he thinks so too because he slips by me into the clearing.

DO YOU SENSE IT? THE AIR BETWEEN THEM IS SO TENSE!!!

“How’d you get to me so fast?” I ask. It must have been seconds from the time I screamed to the time he showed up.
I open my mouth to repeat the question, but he speaks over me.
“I was tracking you.”
I stop in surprise. He keeps going so I run after him to make sure he’s only two steps ahead of me. All kinds of questions float in my head but it’s no use asking them all. I keep it simple. “Why?”
“I said I would make sure you got back to camp safely.”
“I wasn’t going back to camp.”
“I noticed.”
“You also said that you’d take me to the aerie. Leaving me alone in the dark was your idea of taking me there?”
“It was my idea of encouraging you to be sensible and go back to camp. Apparently, sensible is not part of your vocabulary. What are you complaining about anyway? I’m here, aren’t I?”
It’s hard to argue against that. He did save my life. We walk in silence for awhile as I chew that over.

***scream*** He said "I'm here, aren't I?"

“What would you do if you had to make a run for it?’ His voice is husky as he stares, mesmerized, at the unraveling thread.
‘I’d grab my shoes and run.’
‘Dressed like this? In front of lawless men?’ His eyes drift up to my midriff.
‘If you’re worried about pervs breaking into the house, it’s not going to make a difference whether I’m in this outfit or in baggy jeans and a sweatshirt. Either they’re decent human beings or they’re not. Their actions are on them.’
‘It’ll be tough for them to take any action while I’m pummeling their faces. Disrespect will not be tolerated.”
I half smile at him. ‘Because you’re all about respect.’
He sighs as if a little disgusted with himself. ‘Lately, I seem to be all about you.’
‘What makes you say that?’ I wish my voice didn’t sound so breathless.
‘I’m sitting on the hard floor outside your door while you take a cozy little nap, aren’t I?”

OMG!!! FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELS***

Okay, the moment is over. I'm ashamed. I fangirl too much. But Raffe is such a boyfriend material. Every girl's dream is to have him. <3 Oh god.
